September 9

At the meeting we discussed what NEA was about and the many opportunities at  the local, state, and national level there are.

Tutoring at the High School is a service opportunity that NEA is considering.  The Kirksville High School is interested in getting tutors during the school day in every subject.  Email Matthew Matheney by September 18th for more information.

At the next meeting on September 23, Steve McLuckie will be discussing how NEA students can get involved in NEA at the local, state, and national level.

There will be a Student Leadership Academy in Jefferson City on October 5.  It is a great way to increase your understanding of the teaching profession.  It’s free, lunch and transportation reimbursement is included  Anyone interested must sign up by October 1 on the MNEA website (MNEA> Conferences and Workshops > Student Academy).

Schuyler Family Fun Night will be November 4th.
